Max Hapner passed away on Tuesday May 10 2011. Max was a good freind, a great mentor, and an incredible magician. I admired his performances that I would seek out when I first came to Colorado in the early seventies. I saw him perform at Buckskin Joe's, Santa's Workshop, and Fundrauser shows around Colorado. I adored his classic magic style. I knew that my personality was not that to duplicate that style but I strove to copy the timing and perfection that stood out in all of his performances. I remember when he asked me to tour with him. I was exstatic. I would have been proud to just carry his props, but I was allowed to assist in some of the effects and even perform before, after, and during his performances. it has been the highlight of my long magical career to be a friend, an admirer, and a co-worker to Max Hapner.
